Lowell Thomas (1892-1981) began his career in journalism in the mining town of Victor, Colorado, where he was raised. He worked as editor of the Victor Daily Record, covering prize fights, brawls, shootings and operas. Thomas went on to work as a newscaster, documentary film maker, and author.
